Mediterranean landscapes
LoicMopingo
Explore Mediterranean landscapes without a car through cycling, hiking and encounters with local producers and traditional craftspeople.
Around Sommières, the first few days are spent cycling and walking: exploring the garrigue, old quarries open to nature, a gentle greenway, and a stop in Ambrussum on the banks of the Vidourle River. A meeting with an organic winemaker sheds light on the practices that regenerate the soil. The journey then leads to the Grand Site of the Hérault Gorges: viewpoints, trails, and listed villages invite you to slow down.
In Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, an iconic hike plunges into the heart of the Cirque de l'Infernet, followed by a canoe trip (in season) that glides silently along the foot of the cliffs. The discussions continue with visits to a potter at Argileum and an olive grower at Mas Palat, to understand how traditional skills are rooted in the living world.
